Then optimise the height of the switch so you're just able to switch it at full treble. You may need to adjust the position of the rack and/or pot to make sure you're not trying to turn it too far when operating the switch. You might find that the pot has a flat spot at the treble end of it's sweep, so you can gain a couple of teeth extra travel that way. Given the design of the treadle, that's about as much as you can hope for without doing irreversible mods. If you're going to hack something, do it to a reissue; they have more travel than vintage ones anyway. Stuart
