| paul perry | Re: Ring modulator Passsive ring modulators aren't very good, im ny opinion. You need accurately matched diodes or else the original signals swamp the harmonics you are trying to generate. I manufacture a ring modulator (the Frostwave Blue Ringer) based on a 4-quadrant multiplier chip. It is difficult to get really good results without +- 15 volt rails. The synth-diy sites have ring modualtors based on the AD633 and also the Motorola balanced modulator, MC1496 from memory. |
