69'pedal - crackly sounds

jens	69'pedal - crackly sounds I put together the kamasutra '69 Fuzz Faze variant. http://www.lazyfinger.com/69pedal/69Pedal.gif. First there was badly broken up sound, but as it needed quite some input before the signal came through, and it cut off sustained notes. ( What you call gated ? ) I changed a cap and tweaked the contour control a little. It's much better now. Light strumming sounds OK with very very subtle distortion. Normal/ hard strumming breaks into horrible, louder crackly sounds. I measured the voltages at the sockets battery 8,85V Q1: C 0,24V B 0,07V E 0 Q2: C 0,14V B 0,24V E 0,13V Any ideas where I should start tweaking? BTW putting in a 50 year old 0,1uF paper in oil (?) cap gave a pretty messed up ringmodulation-tremolo effect
