losing tone from boss effects
i've recently started using a j everman fuzz drive on my pedal board, and discovered a rather discouraging fact about my signal chain. here's the story:
you want to effect your distortion sound, not distort your effected sound, right? well, the fuzz drive (has true bypass) sounds good placed after the 3 boss effects i am using. on the down side, whenever i use the effects (phaser, etc...), its mushy cuz its in the wrong place, right? but when i put the fuzz drive in front of the bosses, its thin, trebly, and basically just weak.
i am assuming that this has something to do with the boss pedals not having true bypass, as far as specifics, i dunno. my question is if there is a way to fix this problem without serious modification to my boss pedals.
i mean, people do use these things without having their tone destroyed, don't they?

thanks for any input.
