maybe i should just give up on having an led status indicator in my pedals...sounds like for me i'm just making it more complicated! lol jk!  
 
by the way i'm using or trying to use this status indicator with the muff signal booster pedal...and it is a negative ground circuit...  
 
so is that why it didn't work? cause the 2n3906's are npn instead of pnp?  
 
this is slowly but surely making sense now...
