| chuck | problems w/ minibooster 2 (bad PCB) well, i figured out the inital problem. it was not that easy to find. i used rg's board and after checking everything over and over i finally figured it out. the board was slighly defective. the input of the board had a really hairline lead that shorted to ground. i guess some of the ground lead from another board was cut off and left on mine. i scraped it off and now it works. it doesn't sound quite right to me though. i get a sort of digitalish clipping distortion in the background. its not a cold solder joint sound. ive messed w/ the trimmers and pots, and it doesn't make that much of a difference. im worried my jfets my have a problem. could the short to ground from the board have hurt them? or maybe they are sensitive to static and that hurt them? i guess ill keep messing around w/ it and see what i can figure out. thanks for your help! any more appreciated thanks! chuck |
