| Joe | Re: Mesa+PRS = Modern Day LP+Marshall? I had to sell it but I had a Dual-Rectifier rackmount. The quality of this particular amp was very high. Perfect in every detail. It was the quietest amp I ever owned, even at full gain. Neon lights didn't effect it one bit, even on stages notorious for this. This itself is a very important feature in an amplifier. Hand-soldered throughout, even the speaker cab I ordered was hand soldered. Marshalls use push-connectors like we did at Crate/Ampeg. (except Marshall usually pushes theirs on all the way Some people make fun of me for using gold-plated or chrome-plated strings. Why do I use them? They don't corrode and the gold ones last a full year since I only play at home right now. $14 for strings per year. Regular strings last a week and I would spend a lot more money. In the same sense some people make fun of Boogies, but I wonder if they've ever heard one of the good models cranked up, out of Boogie cabs. They sound kick ass on stage in the mix, are noise-free, and are ultra reliable. Just my $0.02 |
