This amp has caracter...it reminded me a litle of bands like the Jayhawks...I'd say it has enough usable bottom end. I noticed however with all controls maxed out and really hitting my strings real hard, the amp wouldn't take that kind of abuse very well, but I was pushing it. I haven't had the time yet to try it with some pedals but I will this weekend. I'm sure you will be very happy with this little monster Peter
