I saw Gov't Mule a couple years ago and Warren was playing through a H & K Rotosphere. A local guy who knew them was sitting in on B-3 with a real Leslie and I was knocked out by the sound of the Rotosphere. Warren sounded better than the real thing!  
 
There are plenty of swirly-toned devices out there though. I use a cheap DOD flanger that has something wrong with the clock. Won't do any nice flanging anymore but set fast, does a decent rotating thing. Tried one that wasn't broken...didn't sound as good!
