| paul perry | Re: does anything change for bass? If a circuit is frequency sensitive, you can usually change the frequency by changing the relevant caps. To halve the frequency, DOUBLE the cap values. How to know which caps? Well there are basically 3 types of cap functions: bypassing (usually electrolytics 10mfd & up) , coupling caps (usually smaller electros) and then greencaps etc of small value, these are usually the frequency determining caps. Rest assured you cant f*ck anything up by swapping caps, unless you overheat the tracks etc. If you find anything cool, let us all know! Some old Electroharmonix stuff that costs $$$ more in the bass version, it's just a few fat caps! |
