| MKB | Re: Tube Screamer I've got a TS10, have had it for years. I finally like it, but it is HEAVILY modded. Poor sounding stock, and it had the right op amp too. The TS10 is much like the TS9 and TS808, but it has an added transistor in the signal path (check out RG Keen's fantastic Tube Screamer article). You can remove it and make the circuit like an old TS808, but the TS10 will then make a chirping noise when the gain and vol is up full. If I had to do it all over again, with the info available on the net, I would build one from scratch or buy a reissue TS to mod. My $0.02 American. Is there any way you can try it before you buy, to see if you like it? |
