Re: ROCKTRON REPLIFEX or INTELLIFEX? OTHER?
Hey Bart, I have owned a Intellifex, and a Multivalve both by Rocktron, I personally love the Multivalve for its warmer sounding F/X since the bandwidth is more narrow with the Multivalve. The Multivalve is the same as the Replifex, but has a tube stage to warm things up a bit. If you are using tube amp, it really is not neccesary to have the Multivalve just for the tube unless thats what u want. If you are buying used, I know people who love thier Replifex! The Intellifex is great if you want those extra pitch shifts that the Multi/Replifex will only do one other pitch besides the dry note you play, and the ducking reverbs and delays are in the Intell. But I personally prefer the Multi/Replifex, since they seem to sound better being in a more narrow band 20-14khz Multi/Rep as the Intellifex is more like 20-20khz almost too clean for the guitar, but its a personal preferance thing u know? See the old stomp pedals from the days when they just sounded good are what Rocktron is trying to capture with the Multi/Repli keeping a more vintage tone, and the noise is not a problem, I did like my Intellifex , but it was kind of sterile sounding for some things. If you are more of a vitage F/X buff, I would go with the Multivalve or Replifex, If you want great clean with very transparent sound quality with all those cool F/X in the Intellifex, go for it! Also the Multi has spillover, which keeps the reverb or delay going til its finished, when changing patches, do u know what I mean?
