zachary vex	Re: expansion with tubes i don't have a copy.... yeah, try the largest library in a major city, or the engineering department at a university if you have access to that. bring lots of change for the copy machine. i'm pretty sure the book is simply called "audio cyclopedia". there's also the early john markus books which have lots of tube circuits listed by catagory (there are chapters and chapters with titleslike "compressor circuits" and "expander circuits" and the like. his books have titles like "guidebook to electronic circuits" and "sourcebook of electronic circuits", and they are simply schematics with a brief description (one sentence or so) and the source info (what magazine issue it came from). they are priceless! he must have written 10 of them. good luck! zachary vex
