Fuzz face bias - are you sure?
quote:
"I'm going under the assumption that you're using them in a Fuzz Face circuit. Have you checked the voltage on the collector of the second transistor?

It should be 4.5v (-4.5v if PNP circuit) for the famous sound. If its not at 4.5v you might not be getting all the fuzz that the circuit can give. You can try increasing the value of the input capacitor to get more bass into the circuit and thus more fuzz."

Pauley, are you sure about this? I'm getting about -1.3 volts on my one, which is the same as a Spice simulation predicts. Anyone got any good ideas for getting a bit more curent through the second transistor to set the bias without messing up the tone?

If anyone got a realy good sounding fuzz face out there I'd love to know the collector and emitter voltages for the two transistors.

Liam
