| Scott | "Distance Is Depth" - Jimmy Page Page used to place one mic in front of his amp as well as one behind to capture his sound. Other trivial recording info..."When The Levee Breaks" - drums recorded in the empty foyer of a mansion. The "delay/reverb" on the drum sound is natural. Never heard about the flanging at the board although it would not surprise me. John Paul Jones steered the ship during the "In Through The Out Door" sessions. Page was pretty smacked out of his mind at that point. Check out the solo to "South Bound Suarez"...he uses a BIG chunk of the "Whole Lotta Love" solo. Greatest quote I ever read about Page..."He's the only guitarist who can make a mistake, play it twice, and turn it into a riff." |
