The Hyde side is a derivative of the Marshall Bluesbreaker, it's got the first two gain stages of the Bluesbreaker (with some changes) plus a couple of other stages for the mid-EQ. IMHO it's a great pedal for the money, same price as a re-issue Tubescreamer and it sounds slightly better, plus you get the other gain side.
