| Hi | Re: Full-Drive II questions Believe it or not, the best sounding batteries I've found for guitar stomp boxes are Ray-o-Vac carbons. They are cheap, cheap, cheap, both in price and performance in every other use. I wouldn't trust Ray-o-Vac's products in any other application; their best alkalines won't last but a couple of hours in a flashlight, etc. But the carbons don't seem to color the sound of stompboxes at all (I am *NOT* Eric Johnson, but I can hear a clear difference in harsh sound with alkalines), and last great in them, except for delays. I get about three-four weeks in a Voodoo Labs chorus, but only a couple of hours with a BOSS digital delay (20 minutes or so if the device remains plugged in but unused during a break; they won't go bad nearly that fast if being used, but leave the setup with the thing plugged in and the battery's dead like *that*); I've had one in a Fulltone '69 for close to 2 years!! They sell 'em in all those (ack!) Wal-Mart trinket-palaces. Hi |
