| KS | Re: C.Anderton dual counter wah Hi All I built this circuit about 22 years ago and recently dug it out from my old fx pcbs. It has a great range of tonality with plenty of harmonics as you sweep from filter to filter. It is easily modded by changing each filters caps for freq. and the feadback resistor for gain and some Q. I usually drive it with a FF, ultrafuzz, ts9, and various othe distort, OD's etc. It has the coolest harmonics this way when you sweep it. You also get some nice scooped mids depending on how your filters are tuned etc. I have it in a box with a long throw slide pot . You can tune in a good sound and leave it in position. One thing I've wanted to do was mod it to take a Voltage contolled input , using a plain old volume pedal. 9 volts would come from the circuit and back out thru the Vol pot wiper to the filter.From there it would go to an inverter as well. This would drive 2 LDR's , one turning On and one turning Off as the vol pedal is rocked back and forth. I would use a power supply versus battery for this as current consumption would probablydrain the battery quite quickly. In all this time I've never gotten around to doing this to this circuit. I did expand this concept for the Volume pedal to control phase shifters, filters, tremolos etc. You could control LFO speed or manually shift phase stages. It's loosely based on old analog synth 10 VDC control voltages. By the way , most phase shifters can be modded to replace the LFO signal with a DC control signal , to sweep the phaser or to use it as a variable filter or vibrato box by having only the shifted signal run to the output . You can get some cool sounds like this especially when overdriving the front end of the phaser. Has anyone else attempted a Voltage controlled scheme to control FX parameters.
