| ed | I drew the schems originally... Hello everybody. The schematics everyone is using are ones that I drew after taking apart my Hot- and Vibroboxes. I've since sold both effects, so if there are errors, I won't be able to check. Sorry! I built both effects and was very, very happy with the Vibrobox. It has a truly great clean channel that will warm up any piece of junk and make it sound great. The tremelo (it's not vibrato!) is wonderful too: warm, warm, warm. I never got my hotbox working quite correctly. Even the original hummed quite a bit (mostly because of the power supply being so close to other components). On my clone, the hum was even greater. Also, for some strange reason, the output on my clone was much higher than on the original, even though I double-checked all my component values about a million times vs. the original. I eventually bought a Fulldrive, which I think sounds way better than the Hotbox anyway. Did you guys notice that the Hotbox is exactly the same circuit that's found on the top boost/preamp of a Vox AC30? Anyway, good luck with these. If anyone meets with success on the Hotbox, please post your methods! Thanks. |
