Re: Tube Works Real Tube OD?
received the bk butler/real tube od pedal in mint with an unknown 12AX7 on board. tried it through BFVR in kitchen last night and kept hearing a metalic ping to the sound--which i imagined was due to transistor distortion, i've read--but it seemed to have potential, and certainly had huge low end!
at rh. tonight in the band garage i used the PV classic 30 w/ 1x12 ext. cab, and the pedal killed! big and fat and articulate at same time.... so far so good. a nice complement to the tube screamer on board my old Ibanez UE-300 combo pedal board (compression, tube screamer, stereo chorus).
the tube screamer gives me the very "present" mid-range OD while the real tube gives that "big-bottom" OD.
