tube overdrive/pre amp project
I´am making all tube guitar preamp/overdrive with one ecc83 (from sovtek). It is basicly same circuit as in almost all old guitar amps, with volume and tone controls (in between two triode stages) and output volume. I powered the circuit from transformer that gives 32v out and 16v out, I regulated the 16 v to 12v to give filament right voltage and used diode/capacitors circuit to convert the 32v to 160v (like paia tube preamps, but without the cmos chip, by the way, what that chip do in there?). Between the plate of first triode and 160 v is 47k resistor and between 160v and plate of second triode is 100k resistor.

And it´s distors very early and gives that famous pretty damn good preamp tube overdive sound. I like very much the sound of that thing. and if I but preamp to boost my guitar level in front of that thing I get very good solo sound with good sustain...

I´m planning to make similar thing ( with lower gain) that can be used with mic etc. Do any one know what kind of (transistor or op) circuit do i have to put front of the tube preamp to lower the impedance suitable for dynamic mic?

Have someone made something similar?

Ivan
