| josh camp | NTE 158 for FF has any one here tried these for the ffaces? this, i believe, was recommended by j. orman. i tried these in the circuit, but they don't seem to work very well - they want to work - when i really hit the strings hard i hear , for a split second, a distorted sound - then back to no sound. matter of fact - maybe i f-ed up the circuit - but whenever i use , for both transistors, two germaniums - can't get much of a distorted/fuzzy sound at all. mind you that any Ge txns i use are withinin the recommended hfe range. i've used the 2n388's, ecg100's, etc. no luck -can anyone shed any light here? |
