Knowing the condition of a schematic before you start allows for better use of precious time, and more pleasure when the thing works the first time. I like to check out a circuit's validity before I start building, so I can limit the amount of wasted time. Some guys dive right in, build it, then spend a huge amount of time trying to find where they went wrong, only to find out much later (usually with Ampage help) that the schematic has a wrong/missing component, a wire missing, etc.
