| Roger | Re: Modulation Modeller by Line 6. Tried out the Modulation Modeler Saturday. It's very nice, but didn't impress me as much as the delay did. It has presets for: Fender opto amp tremolo (with control for wave type) Vox bias tremolo (which gives that phasey Vox vibrato effect in stereo where the effect is halved in one output and normal speed in the other. Cooler than panning back and forth I think) MXR Phase 90 Mu-Tron Bi-Phase (can't tell you how authentic the tone was, but this is a little lightweight, as in stereo, it's just two phasors, one in each output, and doesn't give you any of the outboard control that the real thing does) Fender Vibrotone single rotor leslie (very nice!) Leslie 145 horn/rotor leslie (not as convincing to my ears) MXR Flanger (sounded alright but not as extreme as the MXR can get) A/DA Flanger (nailed the difference between the A/DA and the MXR, except that it doesn't do the inverted feedback of the A/DA {the best sound, if you ask me} and neither flanger let you do the "polyflange" type of regeneration) Boss CE-1 chorus (not bad. Not quite as lush as the original, but it was smooth and creamy. Dry in one out, chorused in the other. Control for dry level in the chorus signal so you can do vibrato) Roland Dimension D (very nice. Each knob gives you a different switch on the Dimension) Tri-Stereo Chorus (HUGE! Very nice) Vibrato (trying to be a Boss VB-2. Came pretty close, but I had no idea if a footswitch was latching/unlatching, like the Boss) Ring Modulator (other than the moogerfooger, the quietest and fullest sounding one I've tried in a long time. If it wasn't for the new Fiona Apple CD, I'd have no interest in this effect) Panner. (Well, it's a panner...) Am I forgetting anything? I think that's it. The switches aren't labeled, so I assume it's just presets, so there's no tap-tempo. Bummer for the tremolos... Out of a ten possible points, I give it an 8.4 Bring on the distortion modeler! Roger |
