I once put a DPDT switch in an old MXR Phaser and it would pop the first time I switched it in/out but not again as long as I was plugged in. Never did figure that one out and sold it before I bothered the 1 meg resistor fix. My Valvetone also popped but I sold it also (though not because of the popping.)
