In fact, I got a MIJDS1 to check out, after hearing that they are supposed to be "smoother", I prefered my newer Taiwan made DS1. There could be variations in all of them like a lot of other gear. And I guess it depends a LOT on what the rest of your gear is, I use mostly Strats with vintage style pu's into Fender or a Rivera amp. My Taiwan DS1 sounded GREAT through a Boogie MKIIB too! I like the DS1, that and my TS10 modded to TS808, great combination! Just MHO, YMMV. Later
