| Jsh | Relais I did some haunting on the relais I need. The type I was looking for, is "hard" to get. I found some differences that might be worth reconsidering the type of relais. First there are those small 6v relais. They also have a bigger version. As far as I know the bigger ones need more Ampere to switch themselves. Does that mean they will be more likely to "pop" during switching? (coil leaking) The bigger ones also have bigger contacts (they are transparant, so I could see the actual switches), does that mean that they give/make "better" contact? Less hum/hiss, less signal drop? The other thing is they also need a remaining power source to keep them in the "active"-mode. This might be handy to keep a LED active while in "on" position. This also means that if you use a simple schematic like the one I first had, will drop in "straight" guitar-line sound, when the power goes down (when adaptor fries or some else horrible). A Pre? Don't know. The smaller version is WAY cheaper (*0.5 the price). For $15 I would have the six relais I need. I am thinking about building a test-"circuit" version, just to test the relais (one of each version), simply to find out which onces are more suitable. kind regards, Jsh |
