I think the TC is amazing, but a little cold sounding, compared to the CE-1 circuit. I personally gig with the old Boss Bass Chorus for my guitar actually. As far as building one, there are a few schems on the web, including the CE-1 on Justin Philpott's site. You can also find an analog delay schem, like Craig Anderton's Chorus Delay project and try that, but you will find that after spending $200 in parts, and countless hours assembling you will wish you just bought a DOD for crying out loud.
