The Steve Vai "Bad Horse" Wha is in fact a cry-baby style wha with input and output buffers (opamps) and automatic switching. Instead of the pot there's an LDR of course (like in the "Anderton" mod on RG's article). Some of their other whas use the twin-T filter.
