The problem with that is that potting a board to protect cardboard is as complicated as just using perfboard IMHO. I have this mania about reliability of amps and pedals because I had an amp fail on me the first time I played with a band in public. I was 16, and was good and properly embarassed. Since then I use belt, suspenders AND super-glue *< and I've never had another piece of equipment fail on me in public.
