Along the same lines I'm thinking of  
 
threading the shafts on control pots so I can use nuts as knobs.  
 
  
 
Ok, one hell of an idea! One (umm, black Hammerite I think)pedal with Huge wingnuts coming up...  
 
Knobs are always hard if you want it "right". A luthiersīsupplier actually has some chromed stratknobs that are way cool. Iīm thinking of having a box chromed for those.
