I have run both in to the front end of a 4 input marshall clean eg no master volume. The MXR sounds the best in this suitutation because it sounds a liitle deeper than the TC, but it produces far more noise. The SFC is one of the quitest pedals i've used but it's a very light sounding pedal and sounds best though a loud clean amp eg. a fender twin or a MusicMan. I think you will find if you run the poweramp section flat out and not so much gain on the marshall that a CE-2 sould sound pretty good.
