Re: Boss CE-1, CE-2, and CE-3 differences
The CE-1 is not just mono output. It has true stereo output (in stereo it can be so fluid it'll make ya dizzy). I think the CE-2 does too, but I'm not sure.

I own a CE-1 I got for around $120 a few monthes ago. I love the sound, but it can be a pain in the ass. It doesn't have true-bypass, and continuously routes through a level pot (with hi/lo gain switch). If you have the level set too high the pedal distorts when the input signal peaks (this happens whether the effect is on or not). I find leaving in my effects loop (it and my echoplex are the sole residents of the loop) on my amp, I can keep the signal to it at a constant rate, using it before the amp was too much a pain. But the sound makes up for the hassle. The "vibrato" is extremely cool and liquid sounding.

I'm told the CE-2 is pretty much the same chorus in a modern boss pedal (have never use done). If that's true, it might prove less of a hassle. Voodoo Lab has just released its Analog Chorus which is a clone of the CE-1 chorus channel (or so they advertise it), I think it's mono only though.
