Do your tubes do this too?

DerrickDo your tubes do this too?
In several of my older amps ( Marshall, Orange, Hiwatt, Vox), when I really crank up the volume of the amp, the thin grid winding on the inside of of the output tubes begin to glow red or white hot. Different tubes and different amps do this to varying degrees. It looks as though the tube is getting a bit brighter as you play hard through the amp. On a few of these amps, you can also see a quick flash at the moment you begin to play through thees cranked amps as well. All of these amps are properly biased. Also, to see this, you may need to turn out the lights in your room, or close the shades on the windows. I have now found a friend who has some of the same amps I do and has the same (problems?). Does anyone else notice this in there amps? Look through the window in the plates of the output tubes, to the center of the tube for this while the amp is played "crancked". My friend tells me this is probbrably OK, but it doesn't look right to me! Is this BAD or NORMAL?
Thanks,
-Derrick
