For starters, I'm going to put an 8ohm resistor across the secondary of the ot. Second, I'm going to tap some signal off of that with a 220k resistor, then feed that to an op-amp based filter to roll off the highs a bit."
 
 
Speaking of speaker emulation circuits, could we just take a speaker with a broken cone but intact coil, and connect the magnet & coil somehow, with epoxy or other means, so that the dont make any sound, and use it as a speaker emulator? Maybe a small fan is needed to keep the temperature from rising to high.  
 
The resistor has different sound due to impedance depending on frequency, with resitor the resistance=impedance (depending on resistor type).
