Kurt:

"I need a high quality tube amp that can sound good without ear-splitting volume (apartment life for now). I have a PRS CE22 with Dragons. "

Crate VC508 (http://www.crateamps.com/vc508.html) is a
5W SE EL84 amp. If that's too much, you could insert a resistor in PSU before power stage to lower supply voltage a bit. Some amps (Egnater?) use dummy load in parallel with the speaker to lower output volume (nice trick). What I would like to try is to run AC-15 kind of amp (EL84 push-pull power stage) in triode mode. Has anybody tried it? How does it sound? With 250V psu voltage it should give 3.5 watts out.
