During the last 40 years, new dielectics have been discovered that allow the same amount of capacitance in a smaller form factor. This is why the ATOM's are smaller than the ELNA's. The thing you need to be concerned about is the rated voltage. If a replacement cap is rated the same as the old one, you're in business!
