I would bridge the tonestack completely with a 47nF capacitor. Most signal will go through the cap because it offers a much lower impedance path the the tonestack. Did this on a blackface champ and it sounded really great. Don't bridge the stack with just a wire because you have to block the high voltage DC you get from the gain stage before the stack.
