Loud hum.....Help!

Chip | Loud hum.....Help! I have a '72 50 watt Marshall head, modified to essentially a JCM800-style master-volume circuit. This is my main amp, and I've been playing through it regularly for months. The other day, it starts to hum. Not guitar buzz sort of hum, but rather a constant, loud, presumably 60hz hum. Very deep. At high volume, the amp chasis literally starts to vibrate so hard it moves around. I opened it up,and could find nothing wrong. Just for grins, I replaced all of the filter caps - no change. I'm stumped. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.... -Chip |
