I recently picked one up for $5 made by RCA. For general amp work you won't need a high dollar one. I even have an old Korg tuner that puts out a tone for each note. I put a pot on the output to adjust the voltage and off I went. Ham fest are a great outlet for good test gear, and there are fest closer than you might think. Good luck, jb
