For increased gain you can split the shared cathode RC on the first tube. Leave it as is for the bass channel, but for the lead channel use a 2.7k resistor paralleled with a .68uf cap. For even more gain, install a .68uf cathode bypass cap across the 820 ohm resistor of the first triode of the second tube.
