| Ray | Fender Super 210 mod I have a Fender Super 210 tube amp (red knob) built about 1990. (Same amp section as the Super 112) On the drive channel the volume control responds far too quickly therefore I can't achieve a low enough volume level to play at home with my kids sleeping upstairs. Currently I have a Morley volume pedal linked into the preamp loop but this is not convenient. I'd like to change the drive channel volume pot to somthing that has a very slow gain in the first 5 gain positions and drives out the power in the second half of the pot. Possible problems are two: 1. The pot is hardwired to the circuit board and then aligned through the face hole therefore a replacement should have identicle connectors and connection points to the original. 2. I'm concerned that the mod may impact the characteristics of the amp Can anyone suggest a replacement pot and let me know if the sound of the 210 would be altered. By the way am I posting in the right place? I have no clue what D/Y means. Ray |
