But i think ill take a different route,( here comes some my infamous ideas) if I can some how carve out a drum from styrofoam then its not going to be as heavy as i originally thought. that would allow me to use a little DC motor out of and old RC car(which i have). just fix up a little speed control circuit, then i have the mechanics down. After proper mounting and heat sinking for the DC motor, as they might burn out when run at low speeds for prolonged periods of time. As for mounting-for the time being- a big coffee can or similar to keep it from spinning off. the ampification is done with a little 1watt amp with a whopping 2 inch speaker. From someone who owns a leslie, what do you think about the whole contraption?
