I suggest using a compressor designed for an air .  
These "hermetically sealed" fridge compressors won't last very long ,due to lack of the coolant ,so they can "fry" their motor quickly , at least when used continuosly.  
However , if used , better choice would be a freezer compressor. These can make much more pressure (as well as vacuum ,I think)
