Craig	Re: First time amp? another 2 cents here...... I highly recommend picking up "any" silverface fender for $100-500 and rebuilding the sucker into what you want. If your not sure, pick a power level (hard to go wrong with 2 or 4 6L6's for gigging power)and put it back to blackface specs one component at a time. The knowledge you'll acquire along with the tone you get will be invaluable in the long run and a heck of alot more fun (not to mention cheaper) than diving into a scratch built for your first one. Check out Harmoney Central, Vintage Guitar etc. classifieds....silverface twins for $400!
