Paradiddle7 | Ampeg Conversion>KT-88/6550 to 6L6GC?? Hey Guys,.... Well,...it just so happened that the bias was not fixed on my amp. The "tech" (should i even call him that) did not fix the amp properly,...after about 10minutes of the thing being on it cooked on of my KT-88 athen,....another one flashed white!,....smoke started coming out from the Diode rectifier,.....and now its screwed,..I have notified a friend about this and he doesn't have anymore KT-88's left,....So I am planning on converting this amp to the more convienent 6L6GC which he has alot of. Does anyone know the mod?,.....before i do the mod i am taking the amp in to be fixed,...so its stable,...then i will get the tech to do the mod,..i just need the info,...........Man,...I'm getting tired of this shit!,..... Thanks alot,... oh,...i'm building a tube driver and i will post the results tonight when i complete the thing,........ |
