| GVB | Re: Marshall 1987 OK, here's a theory. Somewhere around the time they started producing the 800 series Marshall switched over to a output transformer with a lower VA rating for the 50W models. On the early 800 series, the lower voltages are indicated on the schematics, and I think Marshall had commited to using the smaller trans. For later amps, there are no voltage charts indicated on the schematics, and it could be that this is when the "generic" charts originated, and would include earler models, but since they were sending out replacement 50W transformers to distributers, they decided to include voltage charts only for the new series of transformers. Well, just an idea anyway. Anyone know what the actual story is? GVB |
