| Hamish Hubbard | Re: Amp Chassis and Construction and ranting Welding - the easiest way is to spot weld. You can hire a spot welder for a small amount of money or even buy one of the cheaper models, they are adequate for putting an amp chassis together but not for heavy-duty extensive work (e.g. car bodies). It is very easy. I would go for this method if pop riveting doesn't do it for you. Gas welding is fairly easy but you need a gas setup and unless you are skilled, the joints can look a little frankensteinish. Mig welding is easier, the equipment is cheaper than gas, but it can make a real mess that you have to grind back with an angle grinder. Tig welding has the most expensive equipment but the most good-looking results in experienced hands. All this makes the Mojo chassis look very tempting especially for Fender clones. |
