Re: DIY Champ questions
Niek,

Hope to have a lot of experience with
adding a couple more gain stages to my
"Champ" after Christmas (3 whole weeks
off work, can't wait!) Will let you
know.

As for speakers, I had about 6 different
12" models lying around, and each one has
spent an evening in my amp. Each one sounds
different, ranging from dull and bassy to
thin and buzzy. Almost wanted to mount the
best four in a Marshall cab, with a big
selector switch for mixin' and matchin'.
Finally settled on a vintage Jensen Special
Design I pilfered out of a Leslie 120
cabinet. Old Hammond tone cabinets and
home model Leslie's are a great source
for Jensens and other good guitar speakers.
Just stay out of my hunting grounds! ;-)

"Cheap, sounds good and readily available"
sound like good enough reasons to go with
the Celestion. I just wanted to emphasize
the significant role a speaker has to
what ultimately reaches one's ears. Try
many if you can....
