| Niek | Re: DIY Champ questions Thanx J, Doc and Whit, [I'll just reply to Whit, I am too lazy too type three messages, SORRY !!!] I am still in the designing stage but can't wait to get things started. I'll order an output tranny today ! I want to start out with the BF circuit and make my mods from there on. I'll definetely try the original tweed too. Already thought of the FB switch, I read it in one of your earlier postings. On the www.angela.com [angela amps] site is a dual SE 6v6 amp with a cathode capacitor bypass switch for the cathode resistor of the 6v6. This is supposed to offer either a Fender or a Vox tone. Any comments ? For the speaker I had a Celestion G10L35 in mind because it is cheap, sounds good and is readily available in Holland. Will this really alter the original 'Fender' sound ? I don't want necessarily to retain that original Champ tone, it just has to sound good ! Any experience in adding another 12ax7 stage for more drive ? I want to use the 2nd 12ax7 stage for a trem, one of the coolest effects ever in my opinion. Thanks again, I can't wait to get started. I'll be in touch with you guys. Niek |
